Lost in Previews: No Strings Attached vs Friends with Benefits

Rather than make two separate posts for these two trailers, I made a versus post because these two movies are so similar in plots it is ridiculous.  Both No Strings Attached and Friends with Benefits deal with friends who decide to take their friendship to the Friends with Benefits level and with No Strings Attached.  See what I did there.  Of course, both movie couples start to have feelings for each other and things get complicated.

No Strings Attached stars Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher and costars Cary Elwes, Lake Bell, Olivia Thirlby, Kevin Kline, Abby Elliot, Mindy Kaling, and Ludacris.

Friends with Benefits stars Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis and costars Emma Stone, Patricia Clarkson, Woody Harrelson, Richard Jenkins, Andy Samberg, Jenna Elfman, and Bryan Greenberg.

No Strings Attached has the better trailer and looks to be the stronger movie.  I think I laughed once during the Friends with Benefits trailer.  WARNING: The Friends with Benefits trailer is a red-band trailer and has some curse words in it.

No Strings Attached is in theatres January 21, 2011.  Friends with Benefits is in theatres July 22, 2011.  That gives you a good six month buffer to forget about the first movie with the same plot.

Are you interested in either one?
