Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is a film adaptation of the novel by John le Carré. Set in the 1970’s, the general synopsis is: “In the bleak days of the Cold War, espionage veteran George Smiley is forced from semi-retirement to uncover a Soviet agent within MI6’s echelons.” I have heard about this film for a while without ever really knowing what it was about or who was in it. I guess if I had read the novel, I would be more informed. The cast is a slew of top actors including Gary Oldman (as the main character), Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, Colin Firth, John Hurt, Ciarán Hinds, Simon McBurney, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Stephen Graham. The trailer is intriguing and has a killer score track behind it.
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is in theatres in the US on November 18, 2011.
