I have missed posting a lot of trailers lately, so I am putting them all in a large post. I have included the release date, the synopsis, poster, and the cast if they are available. This has amounted to twenty trailers in one post. I think if you watch every single one, you should be pretty caught up on the trailers that were released in the past couple of months. Some of these trailers are from independent films that you may never heard of. If some of these trailers do not work, please let me know so that I can update them Enjoy!
A movie about LARPing? Why yes, yes it is. The Knights of Badassdom (awesome title) stars Ryan Kwanten, Steve Zahn, Summer Glau, Peter Dinklage, Danny Pudi, Margarita Levieva, Jimmi Simpson, Danny Pudi, Brett Gipson, and Michael Gladis.
“Live Action Role Players must become the heroes they’ve been pretending to be when they accidentally summon a demonic force for real.”
There is no release date yet for The Knights of Badassdom.
Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life is a French movie about Serge Gainsbourg who was a famous singer/songwriter in France. While it is a foreign film, the trailer is fantastic. The film stars Eric Elmosnino, Lucy Gordon, Laetitia Casta (yes, the Victoria Secret model), Doug Jones, and Sara Forestier.

There were three teaser trailers for The Muppets, and the final full trailer does not let us Muppet fans down. I am excited that a whole new generation of little kids will get to experience a Muppet movie. The non-Muppet cast includes Jason Segel, Amy Adams, and Chris Cooper along with some cameos from other actors.

Brighton Rock is an English mystery/thriller based on the novel by Graham Greene. It stars Sam Riley, Andrea Riseborough, Helen Mirren, Andy Serkis, and John Hurt. The film takes place in the 1960’s, but the novel was published in 1938.

Margin Call is an eerie look at what happens when a financial crisis looms and what a company does to protect itself. The film has a great cast that includes Kevin Spacey, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Irons, Zachary Quinto, Penn Badgley, Simon Baker, Mary McDonnell, Demi Moore, and Stanley Tucci. The trailer is pretty good, as it made me get pretty anxious just by watching it.

Weekend is a look at the love between two men who meet in a bar and end up falling for each other. This is an independent film that showed at SXSW and stars newcomers Tom Cullen and Chris New.
Tucker and Dale vs Evil is a redneck spoof horror film that is kind of in line with what Shaun of the Dead was like. I have to say that I think it is pretty clever and I am surprised this had not been done already. The film stars Alan Tudyk, Tyler Labine, and Katrina Bowden.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green is a touching story about a couple who desperately want a child but don’t seem to have any luck in conceiving one on their own. They put all of the things they wish their kid was like in a box and plant it. Suddenly, Timothy Green appears. It reads like a fairy tale of sorts. The film stars Jennifer Garner, Joel Edgerton, Dianne Wiest, CJ Adams, Rosemarie DeWitt, Ron Livingston, M. Emmet Walsh, Odeya Rush, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Lois Smith, and Common.
Father of Invention is the second trailer in this post that has Kevin Spacey in it. This time he plays an inventor who invents a lot of those as seen on TV items. Unfortunately, his last invention ended up maiming some customers so he ended up in jail. Now he is back trying to rebuild his business. The film also stars Heather Graham, Camilla Belle, Johnny Knoxville, Craig Robinson, and Virginia Madsen.
“Millionaire infomercial guru, Robert Axle (Kevin Spacey) loses everything when one of his inventions has a design flaw that accidentally chops off the fingers of thousands of customers. A Bird of the Air is a little indie romantic drama that revolves around a little romance that is sparked by parrot. The parrot randomly shows up at a trailer one day and the two main characters go on a search to find its owner. If you did not know this, parrots and macaws live a long time. If you ever get one, plan on putting the bird in your will because chances are that it will outlive you. The film stars Rachel Nichols (in a really bad wig) and Jackson Hurst.
“Lyman (Jackson Hurst) is a loner, working the graveyard shift for the Courtesy Patrol. When a green parrot flies in to his trailer he becomes obsessed with finding its owner, which leads him to Fiona (Rachel Nichols). She has been eyeing Lyman from a distance and decides to help with his parrot search, whether he wants her to or not. The pair set off on a search that doesn’t always lead them where they think they’re going, but gradually leads them to one another.”

Limelight is a documentary on the NYC club scene in the 1980’s and the owner of many of the popular clubs, Peter Gatien.

Main Street tells a hopeful story that many dying towns these days would like to happen to them. The only thing I have heard about this movie is how Colin Firth and Orlando Bloom had to transform their English accents into Southern ones. The film also stars Ellen Burstyn, Patricia Clarkson, and Amber Tamblyn.

The Darkest Hour is yet another alien movie set in Moscow, Russia. A group of young people are stuck in the city in the aftermath of an alien attack. I will say that the aliens are different in concept from other alien movies. But it seems like every few months there is a new alien movie that everyone gets excited about. This film is the flavor of the moment. It stars Emile Hirsch, Olivia Thirlby, Max Minghella, and Rachael Taylor.

This is the second trailer for The Three Musketeers. It is a bit longer than the previous one. It looks to be interesting and visually done well. The cast includes Logan Lerman, Milla Jovovich, Matthew Macfadyen (yummy), Ray Stevenson, Luke Evans, Mads Mikkelson, Gabriella Wilde, Juno Temple, Orlando Bloom, and Christoph Waltz.
“The hot-headed young D’Artagnan (Logan Lerman) joins forces with three rogue Musketeers (Matthew MacFadyen, Luke Evans and Ray Stevenson) in this reboot of Alexandre Dumas’ story. The Descendants is the upcoming George Clooney film that is not The Ides of March. It involves a family tragedy that quickly gets turned on its head when the husband learns that his ill wife cheated on him. The film also stars Shailene Woodley, Beau Bridges, Robert Forster, Judy Greer, Matthew Lillard, Nick Krause, Amara Miller, Mary Birdsong, Rob Huebel, and Patricia Hastie.

This is the second trailer for Abduction starring Taylor Lautner. I have to admit that I am interested to see if Lautner can carry a film like this as the star. It is quite odd that the second trailer is much shorter than the first one, but it does give a different look at the film. The film also stars Lily Collins, Alfred Molina, Jason Isaacs, Maria Bello, Sigourney Weaver, Denzel Whitaker, and Michael Nyqvist.

Abduction is in theatres September 23, 2011.
Martha Marcy May Marlene is a little indie drama that got a lot of buzz at Sundance this year based on the film and the star, Elizabeth Olsen. The cast is rounded out with Christopher Abbott, Brady Corbet, Hugh Dancy, Maria Dizzia, Julia Garner, John Hawkes, Louisa Krause, and Sarah Paulson.

Jack and Jill is another comedy from Adam Sandler. I am not a fan of Sandler’s comedies, but I do like a couple of the dramas he has been in. In this film, you get double the Sandler as he plays his sister. He always seems to be playing the same character. The film also stars Katie Holmes and Al Pacino.
“Jack and Jill is a comedy focusing on Jack Sadelstein (Adam Sandler), a successful advertising executive in Los Angeles with a beautiful wife and kids, who dreads one event each year: the Thanksgiving visit of his identical twin sister Jill (also Adam Sandler). Jane’s Journey is a documentary about the world famous Jane Goodall. She is a champion of chimps in the wild and in captivity. I must warn you that parts of this trailer are graphic, as it shows some bush meat footage.

Like Crazy is sweet little romance film that won the Grand Jury awards for Best Picture and Best Actress at Sundance this year. It stars Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones as the two main characters. Jennifer Lawrence (who just starred with Yelchin in The Beaver) and Charlie Bewley (The Twilight Saga) co star.
