SXSW Music Announces first wave of bands for 2012 festival

Out of the gate SXSW 2012 is lining up to be just as big if not bigger than last years and those that have come before. Of course you can count on Lost in Reviews to be on the ground in Austin March 9-18 covering the Interactive, Film and Music parts that form the whole of SXSW. November 1, 2011 – Austin, TX –The South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival is pleased to announce the first round of bands scheduled to perform at the 26th edition of the event taking place Tuesday, March 13 – Sunday, March 18, 2012 in Austin, Texas. This is only the beginning though. Showcase applications will be accepted until Friday, November 4 for a showcasing slot.Apply now for the opportunity to perform for over 16,000 music industry professionals including nearly 3,000 media representatives and thousands of fans. Showcasing acts have the opportunity to perform in one of Austin’s many live music venues creating a unique experience for performer and attendee alike. SXSW Music is now accepting showcase applications for acts to perform at the 2012 music festival through Friday, November 4, 2011 at Sonicbids.com. Sonicbids is the exclusive online musical event submission platform of the 2012 SXSW Music Festival. To apply, go to http://www.sxsw.com/music/shows/apply.
