Lost in Previews: The Bourne Legacy

There are three great Bourne films starring Matt Damon.  Matt Damon opted out of continuing his character’s arc, and the studio moved forward with another Bourne film.  Jeremy Renner does not play Jason Bourne in The Bourne Legacy.  He is instead another graduate of the same training that Jason Bourne went through.  Many of the same actors and characters are back for this fourth film.  In addition to Jeremy Renner, Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Albert Finney, Joan Allen, Scott Glenn, Stacy Keach, and Oscar Isaac also star.  I have mad love for this trailer.  It very much starts out as the perfect teaser trailer, until the end when all is revealed.  I would have loved it if they had cut it right when Jeremy Renner is revealed.  I also have to praise whoever did Renner’s makeup in the beginning of the trailer because he is unrecognizable.

Will you see The Bourne Legacy sans Matt Damon?

“The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner)  whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films. For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.”

The Bourne Legacy is in thatres August 3, 2012.
