Lost in Previews: Detention

Detention was part of the SXSW Film Festival in 2011.  I missed seeing it, but I remember seeing Josh Hutcherson at the Alamo Drafthouse after seeing another film.  This film was before Josh was before Peeta in The Hunger Games.  Josh Hutcherson also had the role of executive producer on this film as well as starring in it.  Dane Cook, Spencer Locke, and Shanley Caswell also star in the film.  It is billed as comedy/horror/hipster film, and I think that is the first time I have seen any film described as hipster.  It looks like an entertaining film that aims to be original.  I have to get me some of those shades. . .

“Josh Hutcherson, Dane Cook and Spencer Locke star in Detention, a hipster, teen horror-comedy where the local students of Grizzly Lake must survive their final year of high school. Standing in their way is Cinderhella, a slasher-movie killer who has seemingly come to life and is preying on the school’s student body. As the clock ticks and the bodies pile up, the likely suspects are embroiled in a race against time to stop Cinderhella and ultimately save the world… if only they can get out of detention.”

Detention is in theatres April 13, 2012.
