LCD Soundsystem’s “Shut Up And Play The Hits” in theaters for one night only!

Last year, James Murphy’s LCD Soundsystem project, one of the top five greatest groups to emerge from the 2000’s, in my opinion, took it’s final bow. And what better way to go out, than to headline at Madison Square Garden. LCD put out three amazing records between a 10 year span, crafting probably the best indie-dance punk jams on the market. I was lucky enough to see them once, opening up for Arcade Fire, and it was incredible. I brag about it all the time. James Murphy truly knew how to get the dance floor going. And the footage from the final MSG show looks pretty damn amazing, seeing 10,000+ people dancing themselves clean. Beautiful!

Shut Up  And Play The Hits was filmed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, and documents James Murphy’s life over 48 hours from the day of the last show, to the morning after. The idea of what was going through Murphy’s head the morning after fascinates me. I’m also really hoping that comedian Aziz Ansari’s (who has been very vocal about his love for the group) infamous crowd surf is shown. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, google it. It’s hilarious.

Shut Up And Play The Hits will be shown in select theaters for ONE NIGHT ONLY on July 18, 2012. Theaters participating are as follow:
