Citi Cardmembers, SXSW Badge Lottery Winners to Earn Exclusive Access to Sound City Players Performance

Citi Cardmembers and SXSW Badge holders have a chance to see an exclusive all-star performance of the Sound City Players at SXSW this year. The superstar group will perform in Austin at Stubbs on Thursday, March 14 at 8 p.m. The Meat Puppets will open.

The Sound City Players is a lineup of artists that contributed to the documentary and soundtrack of “Sound City.” The documentary is directed by Dave Grohl and chronicles the story of the legendary California recording studio where bands such as Nirvana and other legends have recorded. Helmed by Foo Fighters front man, Grohl, Sound City Players also features Fogerty, Greene, Goss, Hawkins, Jaffee, Johannes, Mendel, Nicks, Nielsen, Novoselic, Shiflett, Smear, Springfield, Taylor, Ving, and Wilk.

Citi Cardmembers have the first chance at passes beginning Tuesday, March 5, at 4 p.m. ET. Cardmembers can pre-order the “Sound City” documentary Blu-Ray release and receive a ticket to the SXSW performance with this pre-order. Purchases are limited to two tickets per Citi cardmember on a first come, first serve basis.

SXSW badge holders will also have a chance at admittance on a lottery basis. Platinum and Music badge holders can enter the ticket drawing now and winners will be informed via email at least 24 hours before the show. To enter, badge holders can log into SXsocial and click the “Ticket Drawings” tab.

Ticket drawings are also being conducted for Green Day at ACL Live on March 15 and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds at Stubbs on March 13.

More drawings are expected to be announced. For certain shows, there may be space available for badges without tickets, but this is subject to capacity. and a separate process for wristbands may also be announced.
