Wednesday, May 1st Trees Dallas in Deep Ellum hosted The Rabid Whole.
When I tried to enter the club, they didn’t have me on the list so I called the contact number I was given and was immediately told by the voice on the the other end he was on his way. To my surprise, the person that ended up coming out was Andreas Weiss, the band’s lead singer. He was incredibly nice and took care of everything right away. We chatted for a bit before he had to go get ready for the show, and I totally appreciated the time he took.
When the band finally took to the stage there were only about 15 people present, but that did not stop them from putting on whole-hearted show. Their set lasted about thirty minutes, and the few people that were there seemed to be completely enthralled and enjoying themselves. This genre of music (alternative heavy rock) is not one I listen to very often, but I found myself enjoying several of the songs and the performance itself.
Andreas provided a majority of the vocals along with some guitar. The lovely Chalsey Noelle played keyboards and came to the front of the stage for a bit of vocals. George Radutu was on guitar, Oscar Anesetti played the bass, and JJ Tartaglia provided drums.
When their energetic set came to an end the crowd was a sweaty, enthusiastic mess. They then spent some time in the back after the show at the merch table where I was able to visit with Andreas a bit more. These guys are so nice and were really enjoying Texas.
They are currently doing tour dates in support of Italy’s Dope Stars so catch them if you can and make sure to try and meet them!
