Martin Scorcese is back after his brief dive into 3D family films (2011’s magnificent Hugo) with what looks to be a case of classic Scorsese. The only thing that could make this movie look more classic Scorcese that in already does is if it had DeNiro and Pesci in it. But even without them, look at that cast. You’ve got Leonardo DiCaprio (in his fifth Scorsese collaboration), Matthew McConaughey, Jonah Hill, and Jon Bernthal of The Walking Dead fame. Throw in DiCaprio breaking the fourth wall, a standard Scorsese narration, midget tossing, a Chimpanzee, and tons of crazy Wall Street hijinx, and you’ve got yourself New York’s hottest club called The Wolf of Wall Street. Plus, the whole trailer is set to “Black Skinhead” off of Kanye West’s ridiculously good new album Yeezus. Martin Scorsese sure knows the way into my heart.
The Wolf of Wall Street tells the story of a New York stockbroker who refuses to cooperate in a large securities fraud case involving corruption on Wall Street, corporate banking world and mob infiltration, and is released on November 15, 2013.
