I can’t believe it, but it’s finally here. I’m finally staring at brand new footage from the LONG awaited Anchorman sequel. As Champ Kind would say, “WHAMMY!!!”. Pretty much all doubts, if there ever even were any, could be laid to rest right now. The Legend Continues picks up in the 80s while the news team struggle to find their place in the new world of Global Media. It seems Brian Fontana has taken a modeling gig (obviously), and Ron is a commentator at an aquatic zoo of some sorts. What’s more important, though, is that quick shot of Paul Rudd with an afro. Because, YES.
With the 70’s behind him, San Diego’s top rated newsman, Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), returns to the news desk in “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.” Also back for more are Ron’s co-anchor and wife, Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), weather man Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), man on the street Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) and sports guy Champ Kind (David Koechner) – All of whom won’t make it easy to stay classy… while taking New York’s first 24-hour news channel by storm.
