Clearfork Music Festival Band Preview: He’s My Brother, She’s My Sister

Hes-My-Brother-Shes-My-Sister-675x505Saturday, September 21st, the Clearfork Ranch right along the beautiful Trinity River in Fort Worth, Texas is going to be the place to be for the Clearfork Music Festival.

This all day, family friendly festival is being presented by Keep Texas Live and features the band He’s My Brother, She’s My Sister. This quartet consists of actual brother and sister Rachel Kolar (Vocals & Percussion) and Rob Kolar (Vocals & Guitar). Along with the amazingly talented Lauren Brown (Drummer), Oliver ‘Oliwa’ Newell (Upright Bass), and Aaron Robinson (Slide Guitar)

This tirelessly touring band is rapidly gaining popularity and it is well deserved. Playing at events like SXSW in Austin and scoring a performance on the Late Late smshmsShow with Craig Ferguson. These guys have an extremely unique style that includes a drummer that can tap dance her set, and an amazing slide guitarist, and a unpredictable array of other instruments you may not see coming.  Stand out songs include “Stand Your Ground,” “Slow it Down,” and my personal favorite “Can’t See the Stars.: I was not familiar with this group until I was asked to preview them for the festival, so I began to listen to their music to see what I thought before I sat down to write this article and I have to be honest, I have had it on constant repeat since the first listen and have now got multiple friends on board as well.  I am seriously looking forward to seeing this band live!

You should check them out and go to the Clearfork Festival. They play at 8pm on the Goose Island Stage.
