Here’s what is new from HBO this fall:
HBO has confirmed the debut date of FOO FIGHTERS: SONIC HIGHWAYS, with the series to launch its eight-episode season FRIDAY, OCT. 17 (11:00 p.m.-midnight ET/PT), followed by other episodes debuting subsequent Fridays at the same time.
Directed by Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, each one-hour episode of the unprecedented documentary series is devoted to a different American musical landmark, chronicling the history, cultural environment and people defining that city’s unique musical identity. ~HBO
Sounds to me like an Anthony Bourdain show, but with Grohl’s passion for music and a director’s hat on, this could make for an interesting series to catch. It precedes a new album from the Foo Fighters that will release sometime in November. Their last album was 2011’s Wasting Light. What better way to release a new album than have it preceded by an HBO show?
