SXSW Music: MTVU Woodie Awards Performances & Winners

Rain and a new location didn’t stop the 2015 MTVU Woodie Awards from being one of the biggest SXSW Music events. Fans turned up in droves wearing ponchos and eagerly awaiting the free bbq with a side music.

The performances this year were diverse in genre with the pre-show performances featuring rising acts like Misterwives warming up the crowd before Fall Out Boy, Big Sean, Years & Years, James Bay and more would take to the stage for the actual awards show.

Coming off a big year himself, Jack Antonoff (fun. guitarist and Bleachers frontman) emceed the event, even performing a few acoustic songs from his latest project, Bleachers.

While acts like Years & Years and Childish Gambino were having big nights taking home the accolades, Fall Out Boy was the evening’s biggest winners, becoming the first-ever inductees into the Hall of Wood and performing a medley of career-spanning hits to an enthusiastic crowd.
