Rachael Ray’s annual SXSW showcase has become one of the best bets at the festival. Not only do you get one of the most solid lineups toasted by complimentary drinks, but you also get an amazing meal.
This year, Rachael Ray has done it again. Once again at Stubbs and featuring 3 stages of back to back music, Ray has assembled one of the most diverse and talented lineups of any showcase at the festival. As for the food, this was a conglomeration of the best of southern comfort food – corn in a cup, chicken, walking tacos, brisket sliders and more, but with Rachael Ray’s special twist. While the food line wrapped through the venue, the wait was made all the more bearable since no matter where you were in line, you had a great vantage of the many stages and talented roster assembled for them.
Young newcomer Declan McKenna crooned to the crowd about his love of soccer, while Jenny Lewis commanded the stage and sang songs spanning her many catalogs as a solo artist and band member in Rilo Kiley. But the act that really was a game changer was George Clinton and the Parliment I lost count of how many people were on stage, but this funky group was a literal party.
