The Rum Diary is a film that was made some time ago. It stars Johnny Depp and is based on the novel by the late Hunter S. Thompson. Johnny Depp was a good friend of Thompson and previously played a character from another one of his books, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. It has been a long time coming to the big screen, and it seems we are finally near since this is the first trailer that has been released. The film also stars Amber Heard, Aaron Eckhart, Giovanni Ribisi, Richard Jenkins, and Michael Rispoli. The film was written and directed by Bruce Robinson.
